2010 Pinewood Derby
January 13, 2010 by mxhessPack 803 “lift-Off” Event
September 25, 2009 by mxhessThe “Lift-Off” event for this pack’s new scouting season went great!
The scouts had a ton of fun shooting off model rockets and then hunting them down in the field. We plan to do this next year with even better rockets. If anyone has any photos of the event please see your committee chairman about getting them online.
Join Night Reminder (9/10) 7pm @ Canyon Creek
September 5, 2009 by mxhessWe’d like to have an excellent start to the new scouting year. Our
Join night is 9/10 at 7pm in Canyon Creek’s Cafeteria.
We’d like to get as much visibility as possible so please have your
scout wear the following to school:
9/8 – Class B uniform “scout t-shirts”
9/9 – Class B uniform “scout t-shirts and hat if you have one”
9/10 – Class A uniform “Full scout uniform”
The pack appreciates your support and looks forward to having an
excellent join night this year!
Popcorn Sale Kickoff Meeting
August 13, 2009 by mxhessWe are holding a special meeting for our popcorn kick off this year. The meeting will be held at Canyon Creek’s Cafeteria at 6:30pm on the 19th of August. There will be door prizes and other fun things for the kids. This is the pack’s primary source of funding so please attend and participate. The prizes are improved. The products have gotten even better. It’s hard not to participate!
Join Night
August 11, 2009 by mxhessThe pack is holding it’s annual join night on September 10th at 7pm. The meeting will be in Canyon Creek’s Cafeteria. All parents with scouts or children wishing to join must be present to fill out required paper work. Enrollment is not automatic and scouts must be re-enrolled each year.
Dues will remain at an annual $60 fee. Den dues are to be determined by each den but are typically $1 per meeting to help with the cost of supplies.
The Pack needs your help!
July 16, 2009 by mxhessPack 803 needs new leaders to replace our out-going leaders. The pack can only be successful if parents take the time to support the scouts in the pack. Without volunteers the pack will be forced to simply not run specific dens until leaders step forward.
We currently have the following positions open:
- Cubmaster
- Assistant Cubmaster
- Webelos I Den Leader
- Assistant Webelos I Den Leader
- Assistant Webelos II Den Leader
- Bear Den Leader
- Assistant Bear Den Leader
- Tiger Den Leader
- Pack Trainer
We will not be having a Webelos I, Bear, or Tiger Den this year if we do not get parental volunteers for those open den leader roles listed above.
For those interested in volunteering for any of our open positions please contact Matt Hess at (303) 747-5607 or mxhess (at) gmail (dot) com. Refunds for all direct training costs will be provided for those showing course completion/certification. Resources are available to aid in guiding den leaders with activities, ideas and plans. All leaders are exempt from being asked/expected to volunteer with other pack activities such as coordinating specific events.

July pack family camp out
June 18, 2009 by mxhessDue to a lack of interest and partial payments collected the pack’s family camp out scheduled in July will be canceled. All who paid will receive a refund. We apologize for any inconvenience. This was a financial decision made by the committee based on low sign up numbers. We may possibly try again for later this year or to hold a camp out next year depending on feedback collected by den leaders.

ScoutTrack -> ScoutManage
May 27, 2009 by mxhessWe are moving our scout tracking information to a new system at www.scoutmanage.com. All parents (that we have on record) have a new userid for the new website in the format of (firstname)(lastname). Your password will be your lastname with a 1 on the end.
Example:
Name: Joe User
user: joeuser
pass: user1
There are some usernames in the format of (first letter of first name)(last name) due to length limitations. If your first name and last name combined total more than 14 characters then your login will be the following example.
Example:
Name: Joe User
user: juser
pass: user1
The move will save the pack money and give us better capabilities to track awards earned/given out. Handle online event registrations, offer a more public calendar that ties in with our website and many more features to better support the pack! This is a step forward for the pack and your continuing support is appreciated.
The move officially happens after the pack graduation (June 6th) and scouttrack will be disabled for all users at that time. This information is being offered in advance in the hopes that the transition will be easier.
Please input all new information after the end of May 2009 into the new scoutmanage system.
There is a large amount of information for help in getting around the new system offered online at The ScoutManage Online Wiki.
