Nov. 20, 2010 WeBeLoS II went to see Beauty and the Beast at Grandview HS.  The boys enjoyed the performance and got to get a backstage tour from a Boy Scout who gave us some great info on the theater. Did you know that they call it upstage because the stage used to be on a slant?

Wolves visit Castlewood State Park

November 8, 2010

On Saturday, November 6, Wolf Den 6 of Pack 803 took a hike out to the original Cherry Creek Dam in Castlewood Canyon State Park, a few miles south of Franktown.  The Scouts hiked three miles round trip in a quick hour and a half, which included crossing a stream, climbing up to the dam and walking on it and looking through binoculars.  The boys also watched a movie at the ranger station where they learned that the dam had burst in 1933 and sent a six foot tall wall of water down Cherry Creek over twenty miles into downtown Denver, knocking  down trees and bridges.  The former reservoir behind the dam is now pastureland for horses and cows.

Webelos 1 having a little fun

September 22, 2010

The webelos 1 den has been working hard on their fitness and activity badges this month. As a challenge the den leader said that anyone who could do more pushups in 30 seconds than him they could throw a pie in his face. Last night Tristan beat him and in true scout fashion the den leader kept his word.

Spring Roundup

April 14, 2010

In the past we have traditionally done only a fall recruiting session. This year we are going to do a spring and fall recruiting activity. The meeting will be April 27th at 7pm in the Canyon Creek Elem cafeteria. We would like for all current scouts to attend in their uniforms and bring their friends. Scouts receive a badge they can wear on their unform for recruiting others.

Please have your boys wear their uniforms to school  that day to bring awareness to the event.
